1976 French Air Force Survival Ration Vintage 24 Hour MRE Review Meal Ready to Eat Tasting Test

Steve1989MREInfo

A double feature, first ration from 1976, the second from 1979 ( at 24:31 ). Join me on this long and arduous journey for an edible morsel of food.
This transitional survival ration led to more efficient (albeit less exciting) survival rations only a decade later. This survival ration was a real throwback, and nothing like this has been produced for some time now. What an experience!

  4. SlimGrim602 says:

Whenever he tries something rancid it always goes something like this, “let’s try this out!” “Hey it’s not that bad!” “Wait… no… well… maybe… no that’s disgusting.”

  5. SlimGrim602 says:

“You only live twice.” Wait… what?

  6. I like when he monologues about coffee for a good 6 minutes!

  7. Bobby O says:

That was a really spooky ending when the proboscis came out of that ancient accursed ration hell tube, thankfully no french pilots were killed in action durring the time these rations were issued, so there is no one's ghost haunting this particular ration being reviewed. No one really had to eat this stuff, except for Steve in the year 2020

  8. les sharratt says:

I will mail you a video tape.

  9. Connor RK800 says:

  15. Steve….I'd say sometimes it's ok to use a normal can opener….it'll be ok.

  16. On behalf of so many of us lol.. thanks for being you during this challenging year, been a nice positive break from life. Keep up the good work! 🙂

  17. History, food, unboxing, ASMR, and subtle comedy. This channel has it all!

  20. RichJMoney says:

Dude, thank you for these videos. Watching these videos is seriously one of the few things that can always calm me down when I'm feeling tense. Your passion and appreciation for the history is obvious and sharing these rations with the world rather than letting them sit unseen in some basement is truly amazing.

  21. JB says:

    This was a funny episode.

  22. SheyD78 says:

I respect using the kind of can opener things like this come with but for the sake of your hands I wouldn't complain about you using a better opener. Great work though as always.

  23. do you ever feel frisky and stir clockwise?

  24. You prob fart 💨 a dust cloud after eating that! Such an odd hobby but I love it! We need more unique people!

  25. Forest Lake says:

    Извращенец.

  26. Steve, I wonder, are you gonna make a compilation of best/worst MREs/moments in videos? On December that is, as end of year

Steve has adapted himself into a walking penicillin unit.

  30. jetaddicted says:

On top of the box you can read « côté à ouvrir »: side to open.
My guess is that it would have been easier, even if more damagable aesthetically.

  31. me me says:

Squeezing out the mont blanc had me in tears

  32. Kevin Brown says:

Steve could be a Mainer…At low tide we say man that stinks!!
And then proceed to go dig clams and have them for dinner.

  33. JoRi says:

Hey Steve! Is there any way you'd review a german EPA? They are really nice imo and available through regular retail and even Amazon directly from the main german army ration supplier (Feddeck) for like 15-20€ 🙂 I would love to see your reaction on those!

  34. Zombycow says:

  36. z00mbi3s says:

  37. roentgen571 says:

"Disturbing Porridge" is going to be the name of my band.

  43. Nate Connell says:

Be cool if you created a video with your opinion on how you'd create a survival tin.

  44. Steve mentality: describes how disgusting it is… eats it anyway.

  45. AzuriteT3 says:

That tube of stuff looks like paint. I bet you could paint with it.
