In France, "brun" is for the color of the hair like when your hair are brown. For the color we said "marron"

Concrètement, elle a raison pour Brown (brun ou marron). L'anglais venant de l'allemand et du français. Avec le temps la couleur c'est apparenté au fruit
(marrons) par déformation linguistique.
Vert = green
Ver = worm
Verre = glass
Brown = marron

French is structured more like Spanish than English grey is gris in Spanish and pink is rosa which also means rose(flower)
