One theory is that ASMR triggers the release of oxytocin, a hormone that promotes bonding.
This would mean ASMR could be used to enhance existing therapies for health & wellbeing.
I'm a doctor of psychology & I'm doing a research study to explore this idea in the hope that the healthcare community will consider the healing potential of ASMR.
