  1. Hey everyone, just a heads up that I fixed the end screen so that the cards don't cover the final painting. Didn't realize that happened (facepalm)

  2. Jessie Sims says:

Hey! Thanks so much for sharing your work. I have been watching for a long time and I am absolutely fascinated by this whole process! Very cool and really appreciate being able to see what you do. Very cool!!

  3. Come on! I can't be the only person who wanted to see the entire retouching process!!

  4. This painting is SO BEAUTIFUL! The subtle colours and the depth perspective, Jesus I'm in love

  5. Can’t think of anything more soothing or reassuring to watch during self-isolation.

  6. Sleepyhead says:

I could watch you retouch for hours, don’t worry about video length!

  7. Jawa Gang says:

I would love it if at the end of your videos you put it under a blacklight to show how much retouching you actually had to do. Amazing video as always!

  8. I was so excited when you revealed the colors of the ocean, and don't get me wrong it was beautiful, but I think im just conditioned to be exited for the last bit you clean

  9. Shoutout to the manly man soap ad that bullied my soap choices 3 times during this video, just let me clean my buttcheeks the way i want to dangit >:[

  10. Jonas X says:

Julian's ad transisions reminds me of the Skyrim rickrolled video meme, as they slide in so sneaky in his narration ^^
    However nice video as always!

  11. GraceFace says:

Can we have a second channel where he breaks down his outfit choice for the day?
I love how he dresses so smartly 🙂

  12. When you scrape the over paint, how does the initial paint not come off?

  13. Lucas Berg says:

What’s the beautiful music playing in the beginning?

  14. KC G says:

  19. Hi! Do you remove all the varnish or you leave thin layer to protect the paints?

  20. Baiswith says:

Perfect example of why you need to clean before retouching. Julien, your patience is legendary and your videos amazing. Keep up the good work! 🙂

  21. sydney leigh says:

the overpainting literally looked like the paint had been lost and like the old canvas was the only thing left to see

  22. Jernulf says:

May i ask what your cleaning solution mainly contains? I have a painting in storage that is not valuable but i would love to clean it just for my own satisfaction. Thank you

  23. anna zaman says:

Is there a partner in crime who handles the camera work?

  24. Not often i like ads, but….well, there are exceptions to all things…

  25. These videos make me want to use the phrase " it would be inappropriate" on a much more regular basis

  26. Adam Kencki says:

    great work, lovely painting

  27. Did Ranger admire Turner? I thought I could see industrial activity impinging on the age of sail. And the maelstrom of colours in the clouds.

  28. h k says:

  31. isame 00 says:

That timer in the corner actually made me stressed! It would be better if you told us how long it took to clean the painting instead of showing a moving timer

  32. anna zaman says:

The trick with the silicone was genius

  33. I fall asleep to your voice! Don't stop talking!

  34. The transition to the squarespace sponsorship was so smooth it’s illegal.

  35. CatherineZ says:

I am confused about the beginning: you say, you clean grime and varnish, which are both terribly discoloured. That I understand. But I remember in previous videos you said that you remove dirt first and varnish second because solvents work better when used on already clean old varnish (thus making it safer for the paint underneath). I thought that this video will show both grime removal and varnish removal, but it's all at once.

  36. Julian, thank you so much for the video. It had been eagerly awaited by me and all that follow you I believe. Thank you also for the longer videos, I personally never fall asleep and watch with the same great attention from start to finish. Therefore even if the video was longer it would still be watched from start to finish. The longer video sentiment is shared by others so good to see. The only thing that I think is missing is you walking around your studio, which looks truly beautiful. If you have time could you do a studio tour. With this said I believe I can say we all await the next video. Regards Rahul.

  37. Lay says:

wait he's not eating the tacks anymore D:

  38. Taylor says:

Thanks for the video. I'd happily watch the same video that's 1 hour longer too.

  39. perfect timing,,,, king ik it's hard but if you could upload more (or even just this video w extra footage that you cut out, like a bonus edition) it would be great. i'm quarantined and i'm so bored omg your videos are incredible plz omg
