~Thank for Watching~ I had always wanted to visit The Grave of Bob Ross and I had been saying for months that I was going to go there, the next time I had to be in the Orlando area. So, when I was invited to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights that Sunday, I left Tampa early enough so that I could visit the cemetery, which is only 7 miles North of USO. I arrived at the cemetery and after a good hour of searching, I found Bob’s grave and then realized I had came on what would have been his 75th birthday, October 29th. Then as I found his Grave, a man approached, and it was Bob Ross’s brother. It was almost like magic. I want to thank Allen Ross for being very polite to me and sharing the memories of his brother with me. It was truly a magical experience that I will never forget. Allen Ross gave me a personal photograph of him and Bob in his home in 1991. If you look at the photograph you will see one of Bob’s paintings behind them. Bob Ross is buried next to his parents and the rest of the Ross family. When I was young I watched The Joy of Painting on PBS and Bob’s talent and gentle demeanor shaped not only beautiful landscapes on the canvas, but also shaped the hearts and minds of many. I consider myself very blessed and lucky to have experience such an awesome moment. Thank you for watching.
