As Christians we are called to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. It is our responsibility to stand up for justice, to give mercy to those in pain and fear, and walk humbly (and for me – humbly recognize my white privilege). Jesus said “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” – John 16:33.

We must keep our hope in the promises of God and not let ourselves be overcome by the pain and troubles of this world.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

“If you can’t hear Black Lives Matter without responding, All Lives Matter, consider a summary of Luke 15: Jesus is watching over 100 sheep, and one goes missing. He leaves the 99 to go after the one. The 99: “But, what about us? Don’t we matter:” Of course the 99 matter, but they’re not the ones in danger. The one is.”

I will never know what it is like to be black, but I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you.
