What is ASMR?

ASMR (noun) – a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound. – Oxford Dictionary

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR), is a sensory phenomenon in which individuals experience a tingling sensation on the scalp, neck, & other areas in response to specific triggering audio. ASMR can be a huge help for those who suffer from anxiety, depression, insomnia & stress. Sit back, put on your headphones and open your mind to a new world.

How do I listen to ASMR?
Most ASMR is binaural, meaning left & right sounds are heard separately, therefore using high-quality headphones is the best way to experience ASMR. Closing your eyes & laying or sitting back to relax can elevate the experience.

What if I don’t get tingles?
Don’t worry! You don’t need to feel “tingles” to enjoy ASMR. “Tingles” which are essentially chills or goosebumps, are only experienced by an estimated 20% of the population. Some people get tingles from sensory stimuli, like ASMR and visuals. Others get tingles from internal stimuli, like emotions and memories.

Remember:
ASMR should not be used as a substitute for, the knowledge, skill, & judgment of qualified psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health professionals
