Musical Trance Feeling Chill Soundscape for Ten Hours

dalesnale

Welcome to a ten hour musical journey titled, The Magic Wand.
The intention is a trance evoking sonic mantra featuring
acoustic and electronic instruments……peppered with vocal
chanting and throat singing (as shown in the intro of the black screen video)
This ever-evolving ostinato progression remains constant with musical elements appearing and dissipating over the course of the 10 hour composition in C major. The piece is rhythm steady and without overbearing melody by design. We find it to have a mantra-like, meditative, and filmic soundtrack vibe rolled into one and hope listeners put it on to relax or chill out, even go to sleep with this obtrusive music.

More on the production aesthetic.
Not too sound too lofty, we just wanted to make a chill progression that never exactly repeats itself (as some beautiful long play music selections do). In order to achieve this, Frank first created an electronic rhythm and music bed. Then Dale replaced the electronic drum programming with acoustic percussion including a garbage bin, cajon and shakers. Then we played and sang improvising over the top of it. This went on for three recording session creating the layers, editing and effecting them to our liking. Each take was about 12 minutes long and we ultimately created 30 tracks (or layers) of audio.

All the tracks played at once is too thick of a sonic brew, but all tracks are checked against one another to make sure they ‘play well’ together in the initial twelve minute format.

The tracks were then duplicated to created a ten hour length.
Then Dale mixed and edited these tracks to create the final ten hour work just like any professionally mixed song. So, the listener will hear certain elements repeatedly come and go, the pattern, the blends and effecting organically evolve and ever-change.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for listening, Dale
