–if sending anything to PO Box, please mark as ‘gift’ so I’m not hit with customs charges! I appreciate everyone who takes the time, but customs charges are super hard to sort out via a PO Box and can sometimes result in the item being returned to sender before I get it sorted :-/ so yeah, mark as gift and all should go smoothly!โ€”

  1. Poor George. Maybe he just wasn't very good at expressing himself, like a Mr D'Arcy type figure! These are wonderful! โ˜บ

Winton Green, is, a, prison….I am worried…lol Americans steteo typically are Europeans…Dorian havent you visited Paris' Luve museum or even London's temple like museum near Covent garden? Hmmm your insane London is the place to be literally surrounded by history and innovation…

As someone who went to Europe I can tell you your wrong about preserving history…and if you lived in London and never visited Covent Garden and the museums and historic buildings nearby you need to get your ass back up there for a weekend…and stop moping around your too young and pretty for moping…lol for all you know you Irish, Danish, and some Nordic…Britain was colonised and conquered…ugh your a silly beauty…Bkack hair was a Danish thing, they cam to Ireland and the coast, Nords did too…and eventually the Gaol aka french…you are the decent of several European countries…if you can find a pure blooded English person…I'd laugh hysterically. .

  6. resop3 says:

I recognized that cliff immediately from your earlier video even though I have only seen it from the view of the train going down its side!

  7. LilLadyA says:

I love old letters, a little look into what things where like.
One of my favourites wasn't a letter but a stone tablet from a few thousand years ago detailing a customer service complaint over the quality of the metal purchased.

  8. LilLadyA says:

It's interesting and sometimes sad how areas change, there's a few local, one local book spoke of a man in the Victorian times being written off work for a week and prescribed a stay in the countryside by the doctor. Not only was it amazing that a doctor would do this, but this 'countryside' now houses one of the poorest areas in the country.

  9. tom mcneill says:

Really enjoyed your comments on Americans. Not many folks from across the pond realize that we Americans do come from folks who were either restless, desperate, or otherwise driven by circumstance to start new lives. Those traits are still present within us, and that is part of what makes us different.

  10. Postcards were the Facebook of their time perhaps *Hmmmmm Deep Thoughts*…..

  11. V V says:

    Missed you!!!!

  12. Rose Z says:

Hay Dorian since you mentioned the whole thing with not checking your inbox I hope you see this. but I'm an artist from Canada and I was hoping of painting a picture of you, and I was wondering if you would be okay if I posted it on Instagram when I'm finished.

  13. grace seo says:

I really enjoyed hearing your perspective on being American. I am, and my family has always had an obsession with heritage (especially since my dad was a history teacher at one point). I married a Korean man and moved my entire life to South Korea two years ago. It's given me a lot to think about in regards to where I come from. I can't help but wonder what any of my 'descendants' will think of the little pieces of my life that may get left behind — and where those pieces might wind up geographically. Great video as always, xx

  14. Love you, Dorian. But 21:19, I am American and my ancestors weren't adventurers. They were slaves.

  15. vvitch mist says:

I don't know if she's related at all but there's an artist with a studio in Ashover called…Lily Hammond!
And I'd love to find a bunch of postcards like these – I really should start trawling the flea markets again when Coronavirus buggers off.

Something that's just jogged my memory, when you mentioned we in the UK not having such a regard for old correspondence, after my Dad died a couple of years ago my partner and I were emptying out the house to hand it back to the council. This included a garden shed, an outhouse and a coal-hole. While Ian was taking the things out of the outhouse he found a metal tin that was falling apart with rust and in it were some letters to my Dad when he was much younger, from a girl/woman (I'm not sure who she was or her exact age. She may have been a student PE teacher from some of the letters). I'm not sure if she was an old girlfriend or just a pen-pal and I'd love to try and find out, but I've no idea where in the country her descendents will be now or even if she herself is still alive… It was quite sweet, reading some of them. I really ought to get them out again and see if I can trace her family while I'm still waiting to go back to work… And years ago I found a letter that my Mum had written to my Dad once while he was away with the TA (the TA, or Reservists as they're called now, played a massive part in his life because he was unable to join the Regular Army). Anyway, in the letter, Mum described "crying blue tears" for him while he was away because she missed him so much (the letterwas written in blue fountain pen ink). It's funny, because my parents never came across as romantic people in the conventional sense. I wish I still had that letter too though.

Had an ex gf… back from… god… aught6-07 (I was very young at the time, and she was older than I. Online affair) if only… by some chance I had still "met" this girl when letter writing was in vogue, I would have STILL had all those correspondences… as it stands, they are lost to time on some goddamn forum websites inbox thing. Crying shame… oh well… passing notion.
