Coucou, tout le monde! This is the fourth and final video of my journey through the south of France! For this video, which takes place in Toulouse, I wanted to strip things down — no music, little commentary — so that you could enjoy the natural sights and sounds of the city for an immersive virtual travel experience… almost like a travel ASMR, if that’s even a thing? Iāve tried to add in a few captions to help you understand what youāre looking at. Iām also including some more info below. Hope you enjoy!
-Saint-Ćtienne Cathedral (or Saint Stephen’s Cathredal) is a national monument and is the seat of the Archbishop of Toulouse.
-Pierre Goudouli (whose real name is PĆØire Godolin) was an Occitan poet who wrote in the Toulouse dialect. He was born in Toulouse in 1580 and died there in 1649.
-Notre-Dame de la Daurade is also home to a shrine to la Vierge noire, or the Black Madonna. You can see her in the clip around 1:36.
