While Will and Grace have a very familiar child-related fight, Jack and Karen have their own fight in ASMR with delightful Will & Grace guest star Demi Lovato.

Remember back in the day when Will and Grace fought and had a falling out over having a child together? The argument in the bounce house? Well, Will & Grace seemingly pays homage to its most famous fight when its titular duo tangle over getting their unborn children into an elite school.

Thankfully, their latest kid-centric fight wasn’t nearly as contentious, but it’ll give longtime fans a throwback as they throw barbs at each other in a colorful school hallway. But the fights don’t stop with Will and Grace. Jack’s foray into ASMR with Jenny ends with a little meddling in Karen’s personal life, resulting in the most brutal showdown you’ve ever heard in whispers.

Let’s recap the latest episode of Will & Grace with the gang’s five sharpest burns.

1. “We can get Casey Anthony to do the audiobook.”

Even though their children haven’t even been born, Will and Grace have put in the hard work of preparation long before either’s due date (April for Grace, May for Will). The decide to relax and celebrate their skilled preparation, even musing to write a book on how they “crush” kids — hence Will’s quip about the audiobook. However, an impromptu visit from Larry and his newborn granddaughter Wheat (everyone apologize to Gwyneth Paltrow) instills newfound anxiety about getting their children into a good school. By Larry’s calculations, they’re already behind.

2. “I can totally feel the tingling on the top of my head, like whenever Chris Pine is in the city.”

Since Will can’t help Jenny (guest star Demi Lovato) with her ASMR live stream, Jack fills in for him. These two are a match made in comedy heaven, and let’s formally order another Jack and Jenny story, please. When Jack finishes his ASMR session, he bumps into Karen, who had been at Jenny’s place to have a ~visit~ with her brother, Luke. Of course, Karen doesn’t stick around long, leaving Jack to chat with Luke and blabber about how he’s Karen’s “booty buddy” and exactly what she needs after the divorce. Obviously, Luke didn’t like hearing he’s merely a sex partner for Karen.

3. “After Hurricane Sandy, I found the most comfortable sweatshirt on the street.”

Will and Grace visit the elite school in Harlem they want their kids to attend and learn just how difficult it is to snag a spot on the roster. From the advanced curriculum to the dedication to mindfulness, it’s the top choice for parents wanting their kids to get into Ivy League colleges. Naturally, Will and Grace talk themselves up to the school’s principal, but their dreams of getting their kids in dwindle when she announces there’s only one spot left for 2024 admission.

4. “Why don’t you just homeschool your kid, that way you can teach him how to have a stick up his a–.”

Having learned a thing or two from the past, Will and Grace agree that they no longer want their kids at that school and vow to drop further pursuing it altogether. Well, that agreement lasts all but four seconds. They each return to the school and appeal to the principal separately, attempting to prove that their child is the better candidate. Old feelings resurface when Will implies Grace isn’t as smart as he is and Grace fires back that no one likes him. They’re locked up in an evolved version of timeout and realize their friendship means more than a progressive school.

5. “Vermont… Like that’s even a thing.”

When Karen discovers that Jack soured the mood in her arrangement with Luke, the claws come out. She prepared a picnic basket of sex toys for Luke. When had she ever done that for Stan or Malcolm?! Karen joins the ASMR live stream, first shaking a bottle of pills and then confronting Jack in pointed whispers. Unfortunately, Jack called it like he saw it, which Karen must contend with when Luke breaks things off. He wanted something more, something Karen wasn’t ready for just yet. Looks like she won’t be going with Luke to Vermont, a place she doesn’t think exists.
