The Pokémon Company releases an official ASMR video of Squirtle hanging out at the beach

The Pokémon Company’s YouTube channel is no stranger to experimentation, whether it be releasing catchy Magikarp music videos or elaborate retro animations. This latest experiment is cornering a significant niche on YouTube – the ASMR video.

ASMR, or Autonomous sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that some people feel when hearing certain sounds, often inducing a sort of calming effect. Nintendo tried its hand at it back in December, and now The Pokémon Company has went with a beach theme and brought Squirtle along for some relaxing summer vibes.

We’ll just have to wait and see if any other ASMR videos are in the works…

Always excited to see something a little bit different, Tom is ready to report on games of all shapes and sizes, whether they be wonderful or weird (or, better yet, both.) Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
