how are you blending oil pastels with your finger? I tried but they won't blend

Maybe no fair that I'm commenting five years after you post this…but I wanted to tell you this reminds me of when I was a child and my mother would be sitting at the dining room table quietly doing her thing, humming intermittently. It was so calming and relaxing to listen to back then, as it is today.
